Saviynt Employee Spotlight: Nandini Thakur

Author: Naga Pillai

Date: 03/07/2023

At Saviynt, culture matters. Each individual in our worldwide team has a huge impact in delivering cutting-edge solutions that secure and modernize some of the world’s largest corporations. Each month in our Employee Spotlight series, we get to know a little more about the incredible people who work behind the scenes building the most innovative cloud identity and access governance platform on the planet.

Meet Nandini Thakur, Technical Architect, Professional Services

Thirteen years ago, a software company took notice of Nandini Thakur when she was still in Engineering School in Hyderabad, India. Since then, Nandini has become a rising star in the IGA space, moving up through the ranks to Technical Architect with Saviynt. Her strong and comprehensive IGA knowledge has been integral in developing our solutions for a wide variety of Identity Governance challenges, and helping customers create better business outcomes. She presently resides in Michigan with her family.

Tell us a little bit about what you do each day at Saviynt.

As a Technical Architect in the Professional Services division, I work with clients to help them adapt and execute IGA best practices using Saviynt. Our goal is to boost business efficiency and productivity by automating identity and access procedures. The success of my team leads directly to lower IT helpdesk costs and smoother business operations for everyone.

How did you get started in your present career? What do you love about the kind of work you do?

Prior to joining Saviynt, I had worked in the IGA industry for ten years and I’d never seen an IGA product created with as much quality. Specifically, I was astounded by how Saviynt disproved the notion that IGA couldn’t be easy, quick, smart, and strong enough to transform a backend IGA system into a front-facing cloud-based platform. Saviynt has unmistakably established itself as the market’s smartest IGA product.

The most intriguing part of my job is that I get to learn about Identity Management in real time by conducting research, learning, and plugging risk, compliance, audit, and process gaps.

What new skills have you gained this year and what goals are you working toward professionally?

My two major strengths are subject expertise, and the high-quality standards I deliver to every duty I perform. My goal is to be recognized as a proven leader in the identity management area. To that end, I’m concentrating on learning, developing, and exhibiting new tools with emotional intelligence and communications so I can empower my relationships, expand my vision, and become a more effective leader.

What’s one workplace rule that you always break and why?

Our ability to empathize with customers can often be best demonstrated by first determining the real nature and depth of the problem instead of implementing the customer’s suggested solution directly.

This method helps the customer see any process or system gaps, and also helps them “keep it simple by keeping it standard.” This saves operating and maintenance costs, and helps them make use of our greatest out-of-the-box product capabilities.

How do you define success?

There will always be challenges. Success comes from equipping yourself with a solid core mindset that’s not thrown off balance by problems that come your way. Good results are the natural result of putting forth your finest effort.

What do you do when you aren’t working at Saviynt? What’s your favorite way to relax?

My personality is centered on dance; it’s not simply a pastime. It’s my method for expressing all my hidden emotions, including joy, passion, and fear. This takes many forms: Indian folk, Kathak (Indian classical), Latin, Bollywood, and freestyle are just a few of the styles I enjoy. Through every stage of my life, dance has served as a tool for me to express myself and get over any difficulties. It has enhanced my self-awareness and self-confidence, and this benefits both my personal and professional development.

Can you recall the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

While playing a game with friends during a New Year’s party, I was having such a good time on the losing team that I thought, “if losing can be this much fun, why not lose every day?” I genuinely laughed till I had tears in my eyes and a back ache.

What would you say to someone considering working for Saviynt?

Saviynt is renowned for its collaborative work environment, robust employee assistance program, and close-knit relationship with its staff. Saviynt is unquestionably like family to me. If you have a strong interest in the identity field and want to work on the most innovative and cutting-edge next-generation IGA product, this is where you belong.
