At Saviynt, you’re not just joining a company, you’re part of a tightly-connected global community that is working together to transform an industry. We’re incredibly proud of our talented, diverse, and award-winning team—and we love discovering the adventures they share with family, friends, and loved ones.

In our Employee Spotlight series, we’ll introduce you to the remarkable individuals shaping the world’s most cutting-edge identity platform, and find out more about how they tackle challenges, pursue excellence, and have fun while doing it.

Meet Subith Shajee

With over 20 years of industry experience and a keen eye for designing cloud infrastructure, Subith joined the Saviynt team five years ago and rose quickly to Director of Cloud Operations. On any given day, you’ll find Subith developing new tenants for customers, partners, and internal teams; building network integrations with customer applications,  and working to improve the stability, security and excellence of Saviynt Cloud Platforms. When he’s not overseeing software delivery and management, he’s on the road with his family, snapping incredible photographs of the natural world.

How did you get started in your present career?

Straight out of college, I landed a job with a tech giant that was starting its own IT Infrastructure Services practice, so my journey began as a data center system/network administrator. I found this job rewarding, as we got to solve new and interesting problems. It was very satisfying to work on tasks that involved workload security, reliability, and efficiency. Later, I advanced to Active Directory administration which eventually led me into an Identity and Access Management Organization for a customer.

When I was referred by a friend to Saviynt, I knew it was an opportunity to learn and to work on something more challenging. As Steve Jobs said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

I’m proud to be part of a team with good people and unique skills. They have a huge impact on me, and I try to reciprocate by being an effective part of the team. I get involved in daily tasks, discuss issues, plan deliveries, and help them resolve problems.

How did your life change during  the pandemic?

My son (who is three and half) was born in early 2020. It was a blessing in disguise for us and gave us the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him. Everyone says that with a new baby, you never sleep in, miss out on grown-up meals with friends, and forego late-night movie trips. Well, during the pandemic nobody was doing any of those things so we never felt left out. Honestly, I don’t think there was any work-related stress during this time.

What do you do when you aren’t working at Saviynt?

I’m a travel enthusiast and the guy with a camera. When I can be away from work, I travel and try to capture as many memories as possible. I have an equally enthusiastic spouse and kid which makes it easier. Portrait and landscape photography are what interests me. I believe photos let you pass down the stories and relive the moments. When not traveling, I spend time with family and binge-watching tv series.

Views like these shows us how beautiful it is to let things go

What’s one workplace rule that you always break and why?

Every process and technology is bound to become obsolete. If something at the workplace feels like a routine and you think it can be done better, don’t hold back. If you have an idea that can make your work easier and your life simpler, come out of your comfort zone and bring the change.

What shows or books have you recently binge-watched or read and why?

I’m quite fond of crime dramas, thrillers, and mystery series. Whenever I come across an exciting one, I cannot wait to find out how it ends and hence the binge-watching starts. Even though not recent, “Behind her Eyes” is one that is an all-time favorite. Fans of the book will know that the ending twist is one of the world’s most remembered and went viral long before the series went into production. If you are into these genres, “The Stranger” and “Mare of Easttown” are also good binge-worthy series.
