Motability Operations is the commercial organisation delivering the Motability Scheme to over 700,000 disabled people across the UK. They provide worry-free mobility solutions to recipients of the government’s higher rate mobility allowance. Customers choose to exchange their mobility allowance to lease a car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), scooter or powered wheelchair through the Scheme.
They are the largest leasing company in the UK, buying around 13% of all new cars in the UK each year. As a purpose-driven and customer-focused organisation they don’t pay shareholder dividends; any money made from running the Scheme is reinvested to create the most positive impact for their customers.
Motability Operations needed a solution that would provide a reliable, modern identity governance administration (IGA) solution that would resolve audit feedback, effectively support compliance, and deliver value from day one. Its legacy user lifecycle management system encountered occasional setbacks. Stakeholders within the organisation had acknowledged the need for improvements in access governance and the identity lifecycle management infrastructure, but previous attempts to implement an identity management tool had faced challenges and not progressed as desired.
