Tell us a little bit about what you do each day at Saviynt (Your role, responsibilities, and the impact you make on the team).

I’m one of the Principal Architects with Expert Services Team. I play a key role in customer success right from Requirements of IGA solutions. As a team player, I empower teammates to master the IGA/AAG domain and other technical and soft skills. As an individual, I believe in actions that speak louder than words and at the same time the importance of team spirit which brings all of us from various backgrounds to work together for a common goal. I believe in taking calculated risks and challenging my capabilities. The three main characteristics that I encourage are   HONESTY, ACCOUNTABILITY and CONSISTENCY.

How did you get started in your present career? What do you love about the kind of work you do? What brought you to Saviynt?

I started my career in CAD Design and developing 3D models for automobile parts. I was always interested in the Security and Governance domain from the early days of my career. Eventually, I was able to get my hands on an opportunity to work in that direction. I’m one of the luckiest people to get an opportunity to work on various security and compliance solutions, a few to list, Access Management, 2-Factor Authentication, Risk Based Authentication, IAM, AAG, eGRC, Data Governance, etc and various products/tools/Technologies.I believe that every individual has a purpose and others around are instruments for an individual to excel in their life.  Focusing on the right thing at the right time can lead to greater prospects.  I’m glad to have made the right decision to join Saviynt in October 2014. My personal values are in alignment with those of Saviynt which gives me the freedom to explore and deliver excellence in the field I like.

What goals are you working toward professionally? What new skills have you gained this year at Saviynt (or what new skills are you working toward?)

Professionally, I would like to gain more knowledge and become an expert in overall Identity and Access Management (IAM) for almost any type of organization needs. At the same time, I like to train and guide a team to create experts in and around me to reduce the dependencies on individuals. So far, I was able to work on various business domains (Financial Services, Manufacturing, IT Services, etc)   and  various target types and complex solutions in Saviynt integrations. In the past year, I was able to be a part of the Manager Excellence program which has been a boost to me in my personal and professional growth in addition to be migrating one of the largest customers to EIC with a lot of complex integrations we have done in Saviynt without impact to the compliance and regulations at the same time with less impact to end-users. I’ve improved my skills in automation through SQL, API, Excell  which reduces the effort in migration and validations. This reduced the number of manual errors and improved reliability of delivery.

Describe a time during your career when you doubted your abilities or qualifications and how you overcame that challenge.

I’m from Mechanical Engineering and never had formal training in Java Coding. It was during my initial days in IT when I was working on Developing Disaster Recovery Tool for one of the Telecom/CoIP Giants. I took it as a challenge and learnt Java and delivered the tool in no time. Since then, I started looking at every challenge as an opportunity to learn and keep looking for more challenges to satisfy my hunger for learning something new.

What advice do you have on how to make remote work more effective/beneficial?

I’m being remote worker from the beginning, here are few things which I follow and benefit me

  • The time saved in travel can be effectively and efficiently utilized in learning, research, documentation, planning, etc and foremost evaluation of deliverables to improve quality eventually which will result in saving rework and improving our credibility.
  • Make sure to be available on all ways of communication as we are responsible for our logistics ( power backups/ sufficient internet speed/ No distraction during working hours )
  • Have Video calls as much as possible to have that personal touch in the calls which builds more confidence in ourselves, and team and team could relate to you.
  • Have regular formal and informal interactions with Team and one-on-one
  • Have a routine schedule break (breakfast/lunch/dinner) to have personal life balance.
  • Plan for some routine Physical/Mental activity like Workout time/ Yoga as sitting the whole day at the work desk without or less movement will not only impacts physical health but also our mental health.
  • Have clean and ventilated Workspace at home, say No to food at Desk 😊

What honors, awards or commendations have you won recently? Please provide details of the honor, why you received it, and the entity or person who awarded it to you. These can be from your work life or personal life.

Receive SPOT Award twice, in the months of March and July 2023 for demonstrating each of our core values (Innovation, Customer Focus, Deliver Results, Accountability and Respect) and taking additional responsibilities above and beyond regular job duties.  Also recognized 2023 Wall of Fame.

I’ve completed CIAM Certification in 2023, which accredits an individual as an expert in Skills and knowledge of Identity and Access Management Professional.

What do you do when you aren’t working at Saviynt? (Hobbies, interests, extracurriculars, etc). What’s your favorite way to relax?

I spend time with my kids and wife. And I like cycling, reading and listening to music.

How do you define success?

The feeling of self-satisfaction when I look back on my past with no regrets.

Are you striving to be known for anything in particular?

Nothing in specific.

What’s one thing — either industry-related or not — you learned in the last month?

Saviynt is on the top of IGA however, there is very much need to sustain the product and the brand name. Not to lose a single customer.

What’s the next place on your travel bucket list? Or, what’s your ideal vacation destination and why?

Looking forward to my trip to Andaman and Nicobar Islands 😊 in March, 2024.

Can you recall the last time you laughed so hard you cried?

The Wellness Session – ‘Laughter Therapy’ session conducted by our HR team 😊 It was a really fun event.
