How did you get started in your present career? What do you love about the kind of work you do?

A friend of mine joined Saviynt after graduation and referred me for an interview not long after.  As this was my first job, I was new to Identity and Application Management. Luckily, there were a lot of senior Saviynt folks around me in Atlanta who took me under their wing and gave me expert training. Four years ago we had a very small team, but I really loved the close-knit vibe and the sense of togetherness. Since then, Saviynt has grown quite a bit and my position has changed, allowing me the opportunity to become a mentor to others.

What’s one workplace rule that you always break and why?

My team handles customer issues, and I firmly believe in always bringing tickets to a resolution. I prefer to spend extra hours figuring out the root cause of the problem rather than just closing them out. This was an attitude instilled in me by my mentors at Saviynt and I try to follow this mantra. I’ve added this mindset to my team and will continue to pass it on to all junior resources that I collaborate with in the future.

Describe a time during your career when you doubted your abilities and how you overcame that challenge.

When my Saviynt journey began, I definitely recall moments of trepidation, especially when faced with new challenges and my own beginner’s knowledge of a new product. Having said that, I was fortunate to have made good friends in Saviynt who helped me persevere during tough moments and motivated me to tackle these new experiences head-on.

Now, 3 months later, I’ve settled into my new role better than I could have imagined. I’ve grown leaps and bounds to a managerial position and am having the time of my life leading a young and talented bunch of engineers.

What do you do when you aren’t working at Saviynt?

I love playing soccer and watch a lot of different soccer league games during the weekend. I’m an Arsenal fan and watching them play this season has been my favorite way to relax. I own a PS5 and spend multiple hours during the weekend playing online with my friends from college. I also love attending EDM concerts with my friends. Since the pandemic, I have tried to attend as many as possible to make up for lost time.

What would you say to someone who is considering working at Saviynt?

Even if you’re new to the corporate world as I was, Saviynt is the ideal place to grow and flourish. You’ll find mentors who will guide you through new challenges, help you gain expertise with complex products, and rise through the ranks. The people here are approachable and will go out of their way to help you. I’m happy to say that the challenges that initially frustrated me are now the things I enjoy mentoring others on.
