Senior Solutions Engineer – US Federal Market


Saviynt is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to provide hands on technical leadership within Saviynt’s Cloud Access Governance & Intelligence growth in the US Public Sector. Must be located in the Washington DC area. Focus is on the US Federal market. Desirable comfort level traits: Application, data and infrastructure governance. Continuous controls, CASB, firewalls, SIEMs, CJIS/DFAR/FedRAMP-FISMA/HIPAA/others, experience with legacy on-premise IGA offerings, access controls, and the cloud shared security model. Current Top Secret clearance and CISSP are preferred. Travel is variable with many appointments occurring in the metro-DC area.

  • Be the technical sales lead throughout the pre-sales cycle by owning and driving evaluations to success
  • Technical pre-sales support for direct and partner sales teams
  • Assist the sales teams to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies
  • Develop relationships with the sales teams, partners and customers in support of Saviynt’s sales objectives
  • Provide technical expertise and real-life experience in creating solutions, designs, proof of concept and implementation
  • Conduct research and use knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections
  • Educate sales teams and partners on the product solutions
  • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction


  • 5+ years industry experience in sales engineering
  • Bachelor’s/equivalent in CS, CIS, MIS, IT or Engineering
  • Technical background in Identity Governance Administration/IGA, including use of tools such as Oracle Identity Management, IBM Security Identity Manager, IBM Security Access Manager, Sun Identity Manager, Novell Identity Manager
  • A thorough working understanding of governance frameworks, including NIST 800-53, DFAR, CJIS, FedRAMP, etc.
  • Prior experience in selling software to the US Federal market
  • Experience with RFP responses and proposals
  • Must have a good understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities of a sales engineer
  • Strong technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to see and present “the Big Picture”, uncover business challenges, and offer architect a solution to solve customer business issues
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, high energy environment
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to travel 25-75%
